Attachment Style Coaching

As an attachment style coach, I will guide you to transform the way you show up in relationships- with yourself and others. Embrace the opportunity of becoming securely attached.

Do relationships feel just out of reach for you?

Are you disappointed in the way your last relationship ended?

Do you you have a great capacity to love?

Is companionship something you deeply desire?

Do you feel defeated because of how many times that companionship has fallen through your fingertips?

Are you sure of your ability to learn from and overcome your dating patterns and habits?

Let's do this.

I know what it’s like to feel that relationships are just out of your reach.

I am also familiar with how real yet how confronting the reality of self-sabotage can be.  AND I know that it is possible to learn how to show up for yourself and others in entirely new and healthier ways.

Please know that:

  • It can feel like our habits and patterns are encoded in us and out of our control. But they aren’t.
  • Anxiety can feel overwhelming. Avoidance can feel natural. And they can both put daggers in our romantic relationships.
  • Along the same lines…we can subconsciously sabotage things we genuinely desire.
  • The “work” can be one of the most fulfilling things we will ever do. With the biggest pay off.
  • Self-sabotage is real - even if we don’t realize we are doing it (I’ve been there as well!).
  • You CAN build the relationships you want and deserve.

Ready to take power into your own hands and do the work to attract and build happier and longer-lasting relationships?

The Secure Attachment Toolkit

This intensive is designed to support your journey to move from Insecure to Secure Attachment (it IS available to you). Despite the mechanics of your current or past relationships, I believe in your ability to turn things around--IF you want to.

I have a science-informed, research-based, customized roadmap to help you do it.

Step 1: Attachment style assessment and history

Together, we will take a deep dive into your attachment style history. We will then take what we learn and build a loving relationship with your past, your patterns, and your history. Finally, we will explore what it is you want in your relationships and gain the knowledge and power needed to embolden yourself to create a new types of love with yourself and others.

Step 2:  Build a comprehensive relationship inventory

What does the most secure version of yourself truly desire out of relationships? I’ll help you unpeel it. How does that person show up for themselves and others? Through guided exercises, out of session homework, and introspection, we will learn about your conflict style, take a look at your needs/dealbreakers, and conduct a CLOSE examination into your triggers. The end result: a firm foundation for a more peaceful experience with dating and relationships.

Step 3: Write your magical new beginning

In this step, we will take the love you develop for your past and the knowledge we gain to commit to new ways of doing things that open up a happier future for you and the important people in your life. What does being secure look like to you? What have we learned about your habits that we can turn into commitments to change? Let me pinpoint what your self-soothing style is and come up with an action plan to build new muscle memory and healthy habits.

In the end, you will come to know what opportunities secure attachment offers for your life in and outside of relationships.

While I have a road map that works regardless of your current attachment style and dating confidence…

  • Each person is different
  • Past experiences are different
  • And therefore…each person's journey is different

This is why I ALWAYS offer personalized support depending on where YOU are when we meet. No matter what type of program we work together on, I will be there for YOU every day and we will co-create action plans based on what will most support you on your healing journey.

Want an attachment style coach, but not sure where to start?

First, understand that creating more secure relationship patterns takes time. Attachment tendencies are shaped over years through our experiences, relationships, and learned ways of protecting ourselves, so they rarely shift through insight alone, or in a session or two. Meaningful change requires the opportunity to understand your patterns, practice new ways of responding, notice what comes up in real-life situations, and continue building those skills with support.

For this reason, the Secure Attachment Program is offered as a full three-month commitment. This gives us the time and consistency needed to move beyond simply understanding your attachment style and begin creating healthier, more secure patterns that you can carry into your relationships moving forward.

In most circumstances, it is highly recommended to use this goal and skill development centered coaching program alongside a separate one on one therapy program with a licensed therapist.

FAQs

I don't know exactly what type of support I need, is coaching right for me?

As an attachment style coach, I work with people from around the world to change their relationship behavior patterns.  This allows them to show up in more healthy ways in their current and future relationships.  I help them understand their attachment style, and together we develop skills to create healthier, more secure relationship behaviors moving forward.  You don't need to understand your exact needs to start- gaining this understanding is a part of the process. We will work together to uncover your blocks and discover what will best serve you and your journey.

If you aren’t familiar with the coaching process you may have a lot of questions. Ask me! Send me a message using the form below or book a quick chat here.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

I am a BIG fan of therapy and utilize it myself! They are very distinct types of support, both offering valuable guidance.

Put shortly, coaching is a process that is heavily future-focused. Outcomes are discussed and action plans created to ensure you reach them. Therapy, on the other hand, is largely analytic and often looks at one’s past, addressing trauma, or mental health concerns.

What is text/voice memo support?

Let me support you in real time! The time in between our calls is the “activation” period of your coaching program. During this time you may discover things, have questions come up, or need some additional guidance. My coaching programs are unique in that I provide ongoing support to my clients between our in person sessions via WhatsApp.

Meeting and working with Janice gave me a surprisingly non-judgemental space to ask for support, admit defeat, and guide me back on the ladder to moving up and away from a breakup that ended up being all breakups rolled into one. From the practical tips to the emotional phone calls, to post-it notes stuck to the back of my phone with words of strength, Janice's open hand led me through a difficult path, and even today I pull in lessons she taught me.”

"Janice Formichella, was amazing and helped me through an extremely difficult breakup. Janice emphasized the importance of building resilience and inner strength so that I may be enough on my own. Her program has so much value, both going through the breakup and for years afterward. She started me on the path of facing the demons and devils of my past. her words and the support she gave me has never left me. Janice, thank you so much!!!"

Emily M.

“Janice Formichella’s podcast and coaching has been invaluable for me over the last few years since my divorce. Working with Janice has taught me so much about myself, my patterns, and helped me finally take accountability for my decisions when it comes to just about every relationship I have had.”

Mike S.

"Working with Janice was one of the best decisions I made during my separation. She was patient, kind, and encouraging throughout, allowing me to generate space and grace for myself and others, in spite of my learned internal precognitive commitments and societal external pressure. Her coaching and guidance led me to start to understand and learn to accept myself (cuts, bruises and all) as well as others, and not be afraid to take on what I hope to be a more truthful, soulful and fulfilling solo life. Namaste Janice."

About your Coach

About your Coach

Janice Formichella | BA, MPA

Like many of us, I wasn’t raised with examples of healthy relationships to learn from. I WAS raised to believe that one of the most important things you can do in life is to be married and that long-term relationships were all encompassing. This caused me to be controlling and anxious in my early relationships and to allow myself to be treated horribly for the sake of saving the relationship.

I was married and then divorced at a very young age. This caused me to enter the dating world with low self-worth and move in and out of relationships with low expectations and standards.

Being in a physically abusive relationship caused me to re-enter the dating world hungry for attention but terrified of intimacy and therefore heavily avoidant. Relationship after relationship ended painfully and led me to devote years of my life to improving myself, learning about relationships, becoming my own soulmate. THEN, I figured out how to date with confidence, healthy boundaries, and curiosity (and the ability to attract and keep GREAT relationships).

As an attachment style coach, I am here to help you do the same.

Besides my personal experience, I am a qualified Beautiful You life coach, a certified group facilitator with Sacred Sister, hold a BA in Gender Studies from ASU, and an MPA from NYU.
