Episode Description
Journaling is having its moment, and in this episode, we will talk about applying the concepts of journaling during your breakup. I’m flying solo today, and digging deep into why journaling isn’t just a buzzword. It’s an effective way to process your emotions and give yourself closure after a breakup. I share my personal experiences as both a breakup coach and a lifelong journaler, and walk you through how the act of writing can help calm racing thoughts, process stress and anxiety, and provide a safe container for those swirling, unresolved feelings that come up after heartbreak.
I break down exactly why journaling is so effective for emotional processing after a breakup, and how it helps you move out of confusion and pain, and toward acceptance and clarity. You’ll hear about the real impact journaling can have on self-awareness and your ability to move on after a breakup, with honest stories from my own life and from the many clients I’ve guided through this process.
To make this actionable, I offer three of my favorite breakup healing exercises:
- The “What Wasn’t Working” prompt, to help you get honest about the reality of your past relationship.
- The “Letter to Your Ex” exercise, to give yourself the closure you deserve, without needing it from anyone else.
- The “What I Want for Myself” visualization, to open the door to your most hopeful, juicy future.
I invite you to experiment with these journal prompts at your own pace, and I encourage you to keep your list going as your healing unfolds. Remember, journaling during your breakup is about reclaiming your power and stepping into a new chapter on your terms.
This episode is a gentle reminder that your story matters, and that every word you write is a step toward healing and self-reliance.
