Episode Description

when you are being cheated on, it can feel like of the most shattering experiences of your life. What a thing to navigate. In this episode I open the door wide to both the pain and the possibility of healing after infidelity. I’m joined today by Christine Lalonde, host of the popular podcast Fifty Shades of Bullshit. She shares her raw, powerful story of discovering her husband’s affair, navigating a turbulent marriage, and ultimately reclaiming her self-worth.

Christine takes us through the heart-wrenching details of how she uncovered her husband’s ongoing deception. From accidental emails to emotional gaslighting. it completely upended her sense of reality. We discuss the emotional impact of cheating, not just on the betrayed partner but also on families and future relationships. Christine bravely describes her journey through anger, betrayal, and the difficult process of recovering from infidelity, all while parenting and keeping her life afloat.

Together, we discuss

  • Why being cheated on isn’t a personal failing, but a reflection of complex issues like trauma, ego, and lack of respect.
  • How therapy, anger management, mindfulness, and self-reflection each play a role in healing trust after betrayal.
  • The many shapes infidelity can take, including emotional cheating and the blurred lines of modern relationships (think: OnlyFans, emotional affairs, and more).
  • Tips for managing the racing thoughts and shattered confidence that so often follow, and how to be intentional about your healing.

I share insights from my own coaching practice and the science behind why infidelity is so psychologically devastating, but also why you can absolutely rebuild your confidence and ability to trust. Christine’s story is a testament to the power of resilience and self-love, and we both agree: it’s possible to not just survive being cheated on, but to thrive on the other side.

If you’re facing the aftermath of infidelity, please know you’re not alone. If you found value in this episode, please share it, leave a review, or consider booking a free coaching session with me to take the next step in your healing.
