Hi there!

I’ve got a few different ‘hats’ and even a few different businesses/jobs, and I’ve decided to dedicate this website to my professional writing side, which, despite it being my bread and butter, I haven’t spent a lot of time in the past making very public. When I first started freelancing I quickly built a client base as an editor, proofreader, and content creator all by word of mouth, and mouths have served me well ever since! At the moment, however, I’m in a period of really wanting to “up-level” the most important aspects of my life, so have finally taken the step of getting a website up to promote my writing services.

So, who is the girl behind the laptop, and why might you enjoying working with her? Here is a small handful of fun facts about who I am as a writer, professional, and human being.

-I’m a history enthusiast and love to read historical biographies.

If you follow me on social media you will quickly see that I am truly passionate about the written word (including a love of doodling), helping people through tough times, and women’s history. This has been a lifelong interest of mine and studying history is how I spend a lot of my free time.

Some of my favorite historical figures are Frida Kahlo, Elizabeth I, Marie Antoinette, and Cleopatra. I can often be found reading a biography or non-fictional account of a historic event, and, the dryer, more research-based the book, the better.

-I am a world traveler and love to take my work with me.

I have always wanted to travel the world and am doing a pretty job of it! Being a freelancer helps me to experience new areas in a very different way from taking a vacation, and I almost always take my work with me!

Some interesting places I have traveled include Israel, The Black Forest, Scotland, and Jamaica. My short list of places to get to in the next couple of years include Mexico, Japan, and Hawaii.

-I’m a total type-A, though no one really believes me.

I’ve always been a bit of a rebel and some might even say that I’m a bit of a hippie at heart, therefore it really surprises people when I either say that I’m a total type A or when they see some of my ultra-organised habits.

While I love to work at home because I love the freedom, it’s also because I love the freedom to create my own schedule — one that some might find surprisingly rigid. I’m up early with an often back-to-back list of things to do on the days I work from home, and the days that find me working elsewhere are followed by evenings with strict agendas.

-I like to track everything.

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that I like to make goals for myself and track my progress daily using a goal tracker (possibly the topic of an upcoming blog post…). I’m a bullet journal user and if there is something in my life that can be made into a list, I will be sure to find it.

Besides keeping track of my life and personal growth, I time nearly everything I do when I’m not enjoying my down time (and even then a timer might sneak in to motivate me to get the next load of laundry or cleaning done in between Netflix documentaries). Using a timer is the best way that I’ve personally found to maximize my productivity during the week and stay super energetic.

Well, there’s a bit about me. From proofreader to traveler to Type-A timer junkie, I think it’s all a good combination of things that make me a great person to provide you with your important word-related needs.
